The boss had said she wanted me trained for as many halls as possible, but i am now trained for 2 of 3 shifts, in every hall. It has been a tiresome 2 months of learning names and treatments, only to be training somewhere else the next week. I am proud and relieved to say there is nowhere else to train. Starting next week i'm on my own! Yay!!!

Tuberculosis

It occurs to me that i get anxious easily. this Wednesday, My boss pulls me into the office (with her usual terrifying phone call). I'm at the desk, filling out paperwork, and the phone rings. Hayley says "Jessica. . can you come to the office for a moment?". Naturally i think WHAT DID I DO WRONG??? AHHH. So, gathering my courage, i walk down to the office, and knock on the door. She looks at me for a prolonged moment, then says its time for my yearly TB test, and i need to go to the manor for it before Saturday. Which naturally means i procrastinate till Friday.
On Friday, i go get the shot. a nurse sticks a needle just barely under my skin and injects a liquid in a large bubble into my arm. Witch we all know i found greatly amusing. Then the nurse says that i need to come back on monday so she can detect any swelling, and if the injection site does swell, it means i have tuberculosis and will need to me quarantined.
I spent the entire weekend staring at my arm trying not to panic over a bruised injection site. Naturally my mind had me dying in a hospital at the age of 29.
i didn't need to worry though, as i do not have TB. A different nurse informed me that if my arm had swelled, it would be roughly the size of a softball. The first nurse likes to freak people out.
Moral of the story: hold the anxiety until there is actual cause for it.

Whats That Smell?

So, yesterday, i thought I'd air my house out a bit before winter sets in and I'm closed in for months. About a half hour later, I had to ask the question, "UGH WHAT IS THAT SMELL?", and in a way not unlike moms, I sniffed around for at least 15 minutes before sniffing outside to my wet front step. It only took me a little bit to realize that my neighbors black Labrador had done his business all over the place. There must be something wrong with that dog cause boy O boy is it a bad smell. So, the question I have is how on earth do i get a bad smell out of wood? HELP!!!

On the good side, that smell spurred a massive clean up including the reorganization of two closets, three bookshelves, the switching of my wardrobe to winter wear, dusting my ceiling fan(then everything else), and the complete sanitizing of my kitchen and bathroom. Also, the constant use of febreeze, and candles (still it smells.). It was a busy day, but now I'm ready for the holidays!

All Mine!!!

Well, in the space of about a week my work hours have fluctuated quite a lot. got about four new cases! Then, slowly my luck seemed to change. My older more fragile friends slowly began to experience disaster. My Alzheimers' lady got moved into a home, and Marion (that I clean and shop for) fell down her front steps and broke her leg in two places! Horrible! Not only am I now deprived of their kindness and friendship, but the whole ordeal makes all of those new cases irrelevant. Next, I lost three of the four cases, and gained three different ones in the same day! Whatever, I have decided to move into an apartment! Despite my recent flux, I have been assured that within the next two weeks I will have the maximum forty hours possible! Hearing this, I have decided that its time for an apartment! So, at this very minute I sit in 226 Jefferson St Apt 3! It is a small thing, but its mine, and more space than I had before! I have my own bathroom, and refrigerator! How exciting! Another very lovely thing is that I bearly have the heat on at all, yet the surrounding apartments are heating my bedroom, and, I'm picking up someones Internet! I'm loving this whole experience. In short, its going to be a lovely six months!

Replying to Amandas 100 Questions

It's Been a really, really, really really long time since I last updated, so I thought that Amandas questionare would help re-up my interest in blogging, and your interest in my blogg.

1. If not, its just below this one anyway. On the right side of the picture you'll notice a deck on the second floor, and a roof leading to the parking lot. Also attached to the porch is a rope and a bag that can be pulled between the inn and the restaurant. I bring this up because yesterday I got stuck on that deck for ten minutes!
See, no one told me that if you let the door slam shut behind you like it wants to, then you'll be locked out. So when I went out to use the "pully bag" (yes, they actually call it that) I let the door swing shut. After using the bag, I went to the door, and found out that I was stuck. I realized that the house was empty, so I climbed over the porch-railing, and walked along the roof to the edge and looked down into the four foot rock filled chasm between me and the cars, and quickly went back to safety on the deck! How did I get off you ask? I sat there and yelled for Nancy down in the kitchen to come rescue me. She didn't hear me for a good ten minutes but she finally came up and got me off. YAY!!! In other news, someone stole the eagle totem pole from the front porch! How weird is that! Stupid kids! I bet that will be like stevens stop sign. It just sits there and no one knows what to do with it when they're trying to clean out years from now.

Budget Host Gold Eagle Inn

Hey everyone! Its no great secret that I quit my job, but there are a few of you that probably don’t know that I have a new one.
After getting fed up with long taxing and tiring hours, and rude supervisors, and other stressors, I quit and will never look back.
So, I started my search for a new and better job by calling both career links, and manpower and readjusting the hours I had available. I also came away with the idea of working as a secretary in a school or hospital. I had gotten all the information and had everything filled out and sent when I thought of applying for the second time at a hotel on the Allegheny Boulevard. Apparently my friend Megan had recommended me to her boss. My second application went strait through and I started training on Tuesday. My job at the “Budget Host Golden Eagle Inn” seems pretty simple. I simply take inventory of the restaurant and hotel for the previous day, check people into the hotel, and answer the phones. Plus, when my job watching Sammy is over in a month or so, I can easily pick up hours as a dishwasher or something else in the Inn! “I think I’m gonna like it here!”

Just an aside, The Gold Eagle reminds me of a summer camp or something like it. The one thing that happened, took place on Monday. It was one of those Gross and foggy days (that was actually not cold), when no one wants to go outside. Day after day, I had tried to get Sam to play outside with me. But for some reason he thought it was a great day to ride his tractor and scooter on the patio. So, we got all trussed up and had been playing for about a half hour when he got the idea to roll down the hill between the shed and the house, and before i noticed he had gone sliding and rolling down the length of the hill. Then deciding that that was lots of fun, he ran across the yard to the other hill that ends in a great big drop and started rolling down. He was about half way across the yard when i saw what he was going to do, and ran interception. I caught him up and decided that it was time for a bath. Lessons learned from this event? Watch the boy! Never leave your eyes off the small boy heading for danger!

In other news, Zadd, Jake, Kari, Brian and i played "Hand and Foot" the other day, and i discovered that Kari is the Queen of the game. She beat the living daylights out of us all.!. I also realize how very much I miss my Angie (Frost) Bastings! '_' I'm thinking more and more about Denver and becoming a flight attendant. Well, lots to think about in the coming months!

Deer and Ditches

So, yesterday I learned a lesson on deer and ditches. I was on my way to babysit Samuel Blair Adams Hindman when rounding a curve, I saw a gigantic deer and hit the brake. Needless to say, I slid on ice and landed in a two foot deep ditch.
After hitching a ride with one of Kelseys friends I called somone to tow my car out of the ditch. Luckily, there is no damage to the body of my beautious baby focus. my front passenger side wheel cover does need replaced.
I' starting to think that tire is cursed, because the last time I had a problem with "babe" it was that same wheel cover!

January

Well, January is half over! which means the end of the snow is ever closer! YAY!!! I'm really busy with Mikes supermarket, and babysitting Sammy, and to make it all worse i have trouble getting the whole way to his house. Today i got to the very top of the hill and slid backwards, managing to park over by their stable. How i'll get out of there i don't know!
I'm really excited and ready to find a new job this month.
